Powerful and Precise FP Journe High-End Watches

Despite its youth, the FP Journe luxury watch brand is a respected and popular company not only in the world of watchmakers, but also among the admirers of accurate mechanisms. Its masterpieces have been honored with the highest award of Haute Horlogerie, Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Geneve, leaving behind more “adult” luxury watch brands. The secret is in the incredible precision that has always been the main goal of Mr. Journe, the founder of the brand, its president, and the chief watchmaker. In this way, 10 years ago, in order to achieve a true Chronometer status the company created its Chronomètre Souverain. However, it was not their first attempt. Earlier, FP Journe introduced the Resonance movement able to compensate for the movement of the wearer's wrist that eventually has made it the only true wrist luxury watch in the world and the Remontoir d'Egalité regulating the energy flow in the Tourbillon. But let's return to Chronomètre Souverain high-end watches model equipped with a double barrel. It's not a secret that a spring has a so-called "speeding" effect on the movement when it is fully loaded, but when it dies, the timepiece respectively also goes slower. That's why each barrel was fitted with a loose one-meter long spring that flattened the power curve. One more outstanding feature was the thickness of the movement that Mr. Journe decided to make not more than 4mm. The main problem for that time was connected with the power reserve indicator that was 1.57mm thick. Thus, using ceramic ball bearings he created and patented a new ultra-slim power reserve indicator, the thickness of which was just 0.5mm. By the way, for today it is used in all FP Journe brand new watches .

This year, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Chronomètre Souverain high-end luxury watches for men , FP Journe released a new series of "seemingly" simple dials. Nonetheless, they just seem to be so. Mr. Journe and his in-house dial making atelier worked together to make them from a solid gold coin. Each dial is stamped on all its surfaces and sides, except for the raised numbers that are too small to use the normal technique. Thereby, Chronomètre Souverain new design watches were born.

Such a dial performance that is also available with rose gold numerals for rose gold models was not easy to achieve, almost like a dial for the well-known branded Chronomètre Bleu stylish watches for men. In this way, the least expensive fine watches by FP Journe are equipped with the most complicated dials. Another one interesting fact is that the company produces only 800 - 900 high-end watches a year. This confirms Mr. Journe's goal to express his watchmaking and artistic craftsmanship through the amazing and complicated timepieces. By the way, all of them are powered by 18 karat solid gold movements. The only exception is the Sport collection that comes with aluminum movements never used before in the world of fine watchmaking.
